Once upon a right now, there is a magical, peaceful Realm called Bravehold. Within the borders of this tranquil Kingdom are housed all manner of hard-working peasants, forthright rulers, and fantastical beasts of most colorful description.
The noble rulers of this earnest domain are the good and wise King Leodd Faldain (renowned for his good nature and pure heart) and his shrewd Queen Brizzalynn Faldain (renowned for her quick wit and analytical brains). This joyous union of heart and mind birthed forth a single royal heir, the young Prince Morzic Faldain (renowned for nothing in particular quite yet). The crest of the Royal Family is a Blue Owl with a pretty flower in its beak. See?

The state religion of the Realm comes in the form of The Church of Valtus, which wields massive authority and political power in the Kingdom. Valtus is the God of light, life, and law, and he is worshipped by folks of all races who have an interest in such things. Those who revel in madness, property damage, sickness and generally churlish behaviors should probably seek divine inspiration elsewhere. At one time, Valtus was a living, breathing person whose good deeds and selfless heart elevated him to Godhood. The Church of Valtus follows a complex hierarchy of laws and traditions, and its seat of power is firmly tucked within the Kingdom of Bravehold.

While ruled by a kind King and smartypants Queen, Bravehold is not a place without its dangers. The Black Weasel Society is a secretive, evil cabal of nefarious folks who are heck-bent on toppling the lawful reign of the Faldain line. Their shadowy agents have infiltrated every rung of society in the Kingdom, and you can never be sure who might be allied to them. Rumor has it that the Society is planning to make a big move on the Kingdom any day now. Look out!
